Warranty

LIMITED WARRANTY: Best Access Systems (“BEST”) warrants that all of its products, excluding B.A.S.I.S. software products sold under its trade name “BEST” are free of defects in materials, workmanship and operation, normal wear and tear excepted, for a period of three years from the date of sale to the original purchaser. (For B.A.S.I.S. products warranty, please see the next page.) BEST does not, however, warrant against defects that may be due to improper uses or installation, poor or no maintenance, shipping and/or handling, improper storage, accident, abuse, or unauthorized service. The liability of BEST under this warranty is limited to the repair or replacement of any product covered by the warranty. W ritten notice of a claim under this warranty should be mailed to Best Access Systems, P.O. Box 50444, Indianapolis, IN 46250. The notice should include information as to the product and its defect along with your name, company name, address, and phone number. BEST will then inform you as to where the product should be shipped, with shipping charges prepaid by you. BEST will then cause the product to be examined and, if found to be defective and covered under this warranty, will repair or replace the product at the discretion of BEST.

ADAPTATION PRODUCTS: Best Access Systems desires to provide up-to-date and reliable adaptation products, such as cores and cylinders. However, BEST does not guarantee the quality of other manufacturer's locksets. In addition, other lock manufacturers may make changes to their product that affect the operation and compatibility of our adaptation products. W hen this occurs, those manufacturers have no obligation to notify BEST. If you are using a BEST cylinder or core in another manufacturer’s lockset and find that it does not operate properly for any reason, please contact your local BEST sales office immediately.

ELECTROMECHANICAL SWITCH LOCKS: To avoid the risk of serious injury, extreme caution must be exercised with the use of electromechanical switch locks. To ensure that the electromechanical switch lock does not unintentionally remain in the “ON” or energized position, the entire unit (including the core) must be kept clean, well lubricated, and free of dust and dirt. In addition, when operating, the key must be rotated back to the twelve o’clock or“OFF” position to provide positive switch disengagement. BEST assumes no responsibility for improper application or operation of electromechanical switch locks.

EXCEPT AS SET FORTH HEREIN, BEST MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED, AND BUYER
ACKNOWLEDGES THAT NO REPRESENTATIONS, WARRANTIES, PROMISES OR STATEMENTS HAVE BEEN MADE BY BEST, WITH RESPECT TO THIS PRODUCT, OR ANY PART OR PORTION THEREOF. IN ADDITION, BEST MAKES NO WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OF THIS PRODUCT OR ANY PART OR PORTION THEREOF, FOR ANY PURPOSE, NOR ANY WARRANTY WHICH EXTENDS BEYOND THE DESCRIPTION ON THE FACE HEREOF. BEST SHALL NOT, IN ANY EVENT, BE LIABLE FOR ANY CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES SUFFERED BY BUYER OR ANYONE CLAIMING BY, THROUGH OR UNDER BUYER, AS A RESULT OF THE CONDITION OF THIS PRODUCT, OR ANY PART OR PORTION THEREOF, AND THERE ARE NO ORAL OR WRITTEN UNDERTAKINGS OR AGREEMENTS OF ANY TYPE PROVIDED BY BEST EXCEPT AS EXPRESSLY SET FORTH HEREIN. SOME STATES DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS OR PROHIBIT THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE LIMITATION AND EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY IN YOUR STATE.
